Our Story
Bee Genetics
Guided by a passion for honeybee breeding the business has evolved from humble beginnings as a family owned enterprise founded by Corinne Jordan in 2008.
We focus on breeding healthy robust bees with the ability to resist diseases, while maintaining productivity and a docile nature.
Currently we are maintaining a selection of some of Australia's best honeybee stock . We constantly research ways to improve stock by controlling mating utilising insemination and testing the resulting daughter queens for desired traits.
Insemination is a highly specialised skill for which we also provide training, mentoring and contract services.
Specialised Queen Breeders are a small but particularly important sector of the beekeeping industry. Beekeepers rely on access to queens bred for honey production and disease resistance to be able to maintain sustainable beekeeping operations, ensuring our food security and contributing 19 billion dollars in value through pollination of food crops.
Breeding for Varroa Resistance in Australia
We invite you to be an essential part in a significant and ground breaking research project vital to the future survival and success of the Australian Honey Bee industry.
This project aims to prove breeding varroa resistant bees is possible and sustainable in Australia and will be conducted over a two year period.
Breeding bees adapted to "fight the mite" will substantially reduce the costs of producing future food crops and managing bee hives.

Educating Future Honey Bee Breeders

We offer face to face training with plenty of chance for hands on practical experience in both Honey bee breeding and Instrumental insemination of honey bees. Our expert and experienced trainers hold industry recognised training qualifications.
Wanted Bee Breeding Sites
Queen Breeding is primarily a non-migratory activity conducted in a specific area. We operate from sites around Carbrook, Mt Cotton and Redland Bay and are always on the lookout for additional suitable breeding sites. If you believe you can help in that area, please do not hesitate to contact us.
